Heene to Plead Guilty

They should face serious jail time and payback all of the local, state, and federal agencies involved in tracking the flying disc; this would include local emergency personal in the various counties it went through, state police, FAA, NORAD, the Denver, Colorado Airport, and the airlines that had to make its flights longer to avoid the airspace around the flying disc, especially as it got closer to the airport in Denver.

FORT COLLINS, Colorado —  The parents who pulled off the balloon boy hoax are already facing the prospect of jail time and paying tens of thousands of dollars in restitution over their stunt. An investigator also wants to forbid the couple from making any money off their newfound fame.

"This would hopefully stop the Heenes from being able to exploit their criminal behavior or their children any more than they already have," Heffernan urged District Judge Stephen Schapanski in a letter dated Nov. 30. "All the while the Heenes were playing us all in hopes of making themselves more marketable."

David Lane, Richard Heene's attorney, said nothing in the law allows a judge to impose any such limits.

Predator Drones Not Encrypted

The video feeds aren't encrypted? Why not? The video feeds from the drones should have been encrypted from the get go. Heads should roll for this.
clipped from www.foxnews.com

Senior defense and intelligence officials said Iranian-backed insurgents intercepted the video feeds by taking advantage of an unprotected communications link in some of the remotely flown planes' systems. Shiite fighters in Iraq used software programs such as SkyGrabber -- available for as little as $25.95 on the Internet -- to regularly capture drone video feeds, according to a person familiar with reports on the matter.

U.S. officials say there is no evidence that militants were able to take control of the drones or otherwise interfere with their flights. Still, the intercepts could give America's enemies battlefield advantages by removing the element of surprise from certain missions and making it easier for insurgents to determine which roads and buildings are under U.S. surveillance.

Pornographer's Nephews Tarnish His Image

OMG! Where do I begin?

His image is tarnished? How? He's a pornographer!
clipped from abclocal.go.com

When it comes to peddling porn, Larry Flynt wants you to know his videos of people having sex are a cut above other smut on the rack.

So when a pair of nephews Flynt personally groomed for the porn business decided to launch their own company last year and use the family name, the creator of "Barely Legal," "Busty Beauties" and "Daddy Gets Lucky" wasted no time suing the upstarts for trademark infringement.

Flynt accused his brother Jimmy Flynt's sons in federal court of tarnishing his image by launching Flynt Media Corp. and producing a series of videos he says are nothing but cheap knockoffs.

"The junk they publish hurts my reputation, which in turn hurts my revenue," the gruff, gravelly voiced porn king testified in U.S. District Court this week, where a Flynt family feud is playing out before a stone-faced jury and a no-nonsense judge.

A few jurors scribbled notes. Some studied the images carefully.

But there was nary a snicker, a blush nor a smile.

Panhandler Shot Dead

A panhandler was recognized by police, he ran and fired at them; they fired back and killed him. Good. I am glad this looser is dead. You runaway from police instead of standing up like a man and face the charges that are forthcoming.

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) A scam artist opened fire on police in busy Times Square on Thursday afternoon and was shot and killed by an officer near the famed Marriott Marquis hotel, police said.
No one else was injured. The 25-year-old suspect was recognized by a plainclothes sergeant on a task force that monitors aggressive panhandling, and took off running through the hotel's passenger drop-off area, chief New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said.
At some point, the man turned and opened fire on the officer, continued running, then turned and fired again, Browne said. The plainclothes officer returned fire, killing the suspect, Browne said.
Dave Kinmahan, a tourist from Boston, was parking his car in a spot below street level at the hotel when he saw one man shooting another.

USB

We have USB outlets on our computers, we have them on our new HDTVs, we even have them in our cars. Why the heck don't we just put 'em right into the wall?

For $10, you can do just that. True Power will ship these bad boys in 2010. They allow for two USB charging ports alongside two traditional U.S. three-prong power plugs.

Baucaus mixed work and lovel

clipped from www.foxnews.com

The controversy over Sen. Max Baucus mixing love and politics seems to have come and gone in a matter of days, with his Senate colleagues ignoring calls for an inquiry and the Montana Democrat playing down the significance of his move to nominate his girlfriend for U.S. attorney.

But critics say the revelation of what some believe may have been a conflict of interest speaks to a "pattern" of questionable behavior. If nothing else, it's the latest splash of color in Baucus' unusual romantic history.

Baucus' love life last attracted attention a decade ago, when his former chief of staff filed a civil suit against him, accusing him of firing her for rejecting his persistent sexual advances and seeking monetary damages from him for sexual harassment.

Reached by phone Tuesday, Niedermeier said she's "moved on" from her clash with Baucus, but she called the latest controversy part of a pattern.

World leaders and VIPs began pouring into Copenhagen Monday morning for the city's long-awaited climate summit, arriving in style in a fleet of gas-guzzling limos and luxury cars.

Most delegates to the climate change conference haven't exactly been hoofing their way to Denmark's capital, swarming the city's airport with 140 private jets, 1,200 hired limousines and a carbon footprint the size of a small country.

Video shot on the scene Monday shows squads of new arrivals at the green gathering pulling up in BMWs, Mercedes Benzes, sleek Volvos and plush Jaguars. A bus reserved for the delegates rode along empty outside the conference center.

The head of Copenhagen's biggest limo company says her business usually has a dozen cars on the road. But during the conference — which has been billed as the last best chance to save the environment — she'll have 200 vehicles churning out fumes, the Daily Telegraph reported.
